Ariocarpus fissuratus is perhaps the most unusual of all cactus species. Characterized by a round or star-shaped rosette of spineless, fleshy, triangular tubercles. Ariocarpus fissuratus typically lie flat on the surface or even contract below surrounding rocks in time of extreme drought. Ariocarpus fissuratus are rare slow growing cacti. An Ariocarpus fissuratus 6 inches in diameter mature specimen might be 20 years old. Ariocarpus fissuratus produces one of the most spectacular flower displays of all cactus plants, which is a stark contrast to its rough outer shell. Ariocarpus fissuratus flowers are light pink and usually appear in late spring to summer. You should water them only during Summer months. Please read our FAQ in our cactusbylin ebay store.
