Fouquieria columnaris

This Fouquieria columnaris is really developing a nice trunk. It can grow to 20 feet tall in the right environment. However, if kept in pot, it will stay relatively small. The branches on this specimen spread 12 inches wide. It is a winter grower and stays mostly leafless in the summer. As with all ocotillos, the leaves drop when bare rooted. So it will arrive leafless, but by no means is it dead.
