Ferocactus wislizenii (Fish Hook Barrel Cactus) is a huge barrel cactus from the lower deserts of Arizona and Mexico (Sonora). It is normally a solitary barrel cactus except in case of injury to the growing tip. This species of Ferocactus will grow 10-20 inches wide and over 6 feet tall. The flowers can be yellow, red, orange, or any combination of the three. The flowers occur in late summer to early fall. If the flowers are pollinated, clusters of lemon coloured fruits develop on top. It is cold hardy to at least the mid-teens. You are selecting one of the plants shown.
